Keira Knightley
Knightley was born in London, her parents being Will Knightley and Sharman Mcdonald. She was first spotted by an agent when she was six years old. At that age, she started working in commercials and TV. Knightley played Sabe, a small part for her in Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1998). After becoming famous through the fantasy TV series Pirates of the Caribbean in 2003 when she played Elizabeth Swann (a swashbuckling footballer) it was possible for her to debut as a character in the sports film Bend It Like Beckham in which she played the tomboy. She was in the romantic comedy Love Actually (2003) and was labelled a promising teen actor. Knightley was awarded her first Academy Award nod for Best Actress in 2005 for portraying Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of the historical romance Pride & Prejudice. Knightley was also in many more period films like Atonement (2007 and a relationship story), The Duchess, (2008) and Anna Karenina, (2012). The actress also was a socialite titled Georgiana for the role of Georgiana in The Duchess. She also branched out into modern dramas. Begin Again, (2013) featured her as an aspirant singer, and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, (2014) saw her in medical school. Knightley returned to historical films acting as Joan Clarke in The Imitation Game (2014) which earned her an nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress she also acted as the eponymous writer in Colette (2018).
